The Department of Labor (DOL) has published a YouthBuild Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for $89 million in grants to support and expand YouthBuild programs across the country. YouthBuild, a pre-apprenticeship model, provides at-risk youth ages 16-24 with education and occupational skill development to obtain employment in construction and other in-demand industries.

The FOA was published on December 11, 2020 and remains open until February 9, 2021.  For more information or to apply, please see: https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/search-grants.html?keywords=youthbuild.  In this FOA, DOL has expanded the opportunity for applicants to include occupational skills training in other in-demand industries, which is called Construction Plus and is an administrative priority in this grant cycle.

A pre-recorded webcast for prospective applicants will be posted on https://www.workforcegps.org during the week of December 14th.  For additional information on DOL’s YouthBuild program, visit: https://www.doleta.gov/Youth_services/YouthBuild.cfm.
