DOL YouthBuild National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP) will be offered as a web-based training via Zoom.us. The web-based certification training consists of ten modules that will be covered throughout the week and the week after.

About the NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP):

The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) is a not-for-profit education foundation created to develop industry-driven standardized craft training programs with portable credentials and helps address the critical workforce shortage facing the construction industry.

YouthBuild USA is the national sponsor for YouthBuild programs that will maintain the structure of master trainers, certification workshops, and access to curricula. YouthBuild programs will be registered as NCCER Training Units (TUs). YouthBuild programs are then eligible to use the NCCER Registry System to document their students for certification.

NCCER has developed the Instructor Certification Program (ICTP) as part of its accreditation process. This program ensures the uniform and consistent delivery of the training. Through this program, NCCER certifies the Master Trainer. In turn, the Master Trainer certifies the local Craft/Technician Instructor. This network of certified instructors assures that NCCER training programs will meet the standards of instruction set by the industry. Construction managers and trainers who attend and complete this training under YouthBuild USA will be certified as Craft Instructors, giving them the ability to certify their students in NCCER Construction Curricula.
