The DOL YouthBuild Home Builders Institute (HBI) Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate Training (PACT) Program will be offered as a web-based training via Zoom.us. The web-based certification training consists of ten modules that will be covered over two days. See below for more details and click on "Reserve a Seat" to register.
The HBI PACT program is designed to prepare individuals to enter and succeed in apprenticeship programs. Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate Training can help participants diversify their skill set and meet the basic qualifications for admittance into a formal apprenticeship program. The program includes an approved training curriculum based on industry standards, education, pre-vocational services, hands-on experience in a simulated lab or with a volunteer opportunity, and apprenticeship application support.
It gives your participants the opportunity to learn the building trades by licensing the PACT program. The award-winning curriculum, based on the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Green Building Standard and National Skills Standards, is one of the only three pre-apprenticeship curricula recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) deployed in youth training programs nationwide. The PACT curriculum integrates performance-based learning in the building trades with vocational and academic skills training and includes life skills, career development, and on-the-job training.
- You MUST have at least five (5) years of construction trade experience to register for the certification.
- Your program MUST have a current and executed PACT License Agreement prior to the training event. If your program does not have a license agreement, please contact immediately. To learn more about the PACT licensing, click .
