This webinar will explore how YouthBuild grantees can align their programs with the growing focus on apprenticeship and what various apprenticeship pathways in the United States can look like. Presenters will share how YouthBuild grantees are establishing connections with apprenticeship-sponsoring companies in in-demand industries.
Presenters will also highlight an example of how YouthBuild is developing promising practices in registered apprenticeship in the advanced manufacturing industry and amplify how these practices can be replicable and applicable across other in-demand industries to offer multiple post-secondary options to YouthBuild participants.
Webinar participants will hear from an industry expert who is actively working with community-based organizations, YouthBuild programs, employer apprenticeship sponsors, and community colleges to increase the number of young workers in the manufacturing industry. Participants will also hear from peer presenters who will share why they decided to pursue their specific industry to develop their registered apprenticeship pathway, how they are engaging employers and community college partners to facilitate this apprenticeship pathway, and their progress to date. This will include early successes and lessons learned.
Finally, this webinar will examine potential strategies to connect YouthBuild pre-apprenticeship programming to apprenticeships in in-demand industries.
